The protagonist of the story is Rahel, who, having learned of her parents’ divorce, runs away from the city to spend the summer with her grandmother in the countryside. In a village where she has spent many summers, she needs to deal with the sadness of this life-changing event, childhood friends who have all slightly changed over the years, and a semi-accidental strange discovery about certain caves in the woods. In addition to everything, her grandmother urges Rahel to visit a boy who is completely unknown to her—Anders, who has been left in a wheelchair by a car accident.
The story focuses on coming to terms with things that are terribly hard to accept, and acting in a situation where there is a choice between one’s own and someone else’s happiness.
